**Position Type**: Full Time Seasonal

Canoe Kayak BC is the Provincial Sport Governing body that encourages and provides opportunities to enjoy, participate, and excel in paddle sports. We are seeking multiple mature and experienced individuals to fill multiple Program/Event Coordinator positions.

This position is a hybrid of sport administration and sport technical with approximately 50% of duties going to Program Coordination, and 50% to Event/Administration duties.

**Description of Duties for Program/Events Coordinator**:
Working in conjunction with the Events Manager and Provincial Coach, the Program/Events Coordinator will:

- Event Management Duties:_
- Assist in planning, execution, and completion of hosting of CKBC events (Event Planning) including being onsite during event(s) as a representative of CKBC.
- Assist and oversee event set up/wrap up, ensuring necessary equipment/supplies are onsite and ready for use by Officials, Coaches, and Volunteers.
- Logistics operations.
- Preparation and maintenance of the Event Kit.
- Lead communication for event(s) including content creation, for various social media channels, E-Newsletter, and more.
- Paddle Instructor/Coaching Duties:_
- Ability to assist with on and off water coaching duties.
- Lead groups of paddlers/athletes in a safe and constructive manner.
- Adhere to Safe Sport policies.
- Basic understanding of LTAD guidelines.

**Requirements**:
Funding for this position is dependent upon the Canada Summer Jobs grant. As such, applicants must be between the ages of 15-30 years, legally entitled to work in Canada, and be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

**Qualifications**:

- Leadership, organization and effective communication skills are essential
- Mature, innovative and able to work independently in multiple environments
- Canoe Kids/Community Outreach Coach Certification is an asset, but can be completed as part of the role
- Acceptable Criminal Record Check required
- Appropriate approved Safe Sport Accreditation (i.e. CAC Safe Sport module)

**Desired Skills/Abilities/Experience**:

- Trailer towing experience
- Pleasure Craft Operator Certification
- Event Management experience
- Multi-disciplinary paddle experience

**Benefits**

This is a salaried position requiring evening and weekend work. Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position will include travel around the Province of British Columbia and the applicant must be located in the Lower Mainland area.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 16 weeks

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
