**About the role**

The area of selection is restricted to persons employed by the House of Commons Administration, the Senate of Canada, offices of
Members of the House of Commons on Parliament Hill, Library of Parliament, Office of the Senate Ethics Officer, Parliamentary
Protective Service, Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner or Office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer.

The Conferences and Events Planner is responsible for the planning, organization, coordination and execution of parliamentary
international conferences. In this role, you will plan, develop and coordinate several events and activities; establish priorities, plan
and forecast budgets; coordinate schedules and tasks; develop and implement comprehensive business and operational plans to
support the delivery of parliamentary conferences and events, including solutions and alternative/creative approaches that adhere
to timeframes and budgets.

**What you need**

**Education** A post-secondary diploma or a combination of education, training and extensive relevant experience.
- Experience in the management of projects, events, and/or complex activities;
- Experience in developing and implementing business and operational plans;

**Experience** Experience in dealing with various partners and stakeholders;
- Experience in managing multiples and conflicting priorities with tight deadlines;
- Experience with financial systems and budget management.
- Experience in the planning and coordination of administrative and logístical requirements for

conferences would be considered an asset;
**Other ** In-depth comprehension of the work environment, the culture and the political context;
- May be required to work overtime, work evenings, nights or weekends and to travel.
