**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Human Resources Director, this position is responsible for providing HR support on all personnel matters. This role will support both employees and managers as well as other staff in the HR department. Responsible for ensuring Company HR matters are in line with Company policies and procedures while maintaining adherence to the Canada Labour Code and other applicable employment legislation.

This role will provide confidential support to staff and management as required including assistance regarding policy interpretation, problem resolution, interpretation of collective agreements, along with all other support as needed. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and contributing to day-to-day HR duties such as, but not limited to: HRIS management and support, handling internal/external correspondences that come through the HR inbox as well as personal inbox, full cycle recruitment, management support, internal investigations, disability and leave management, work related documentation, and all other HR support as required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage, use, and maintain HRIS system
- Attend job fairs, expos, conferences, recruiting and community events
- Provide assistance and direction pertaining to both employee and management inquiries and concerns
- Responsible for the oversight and management of all employee leaves and return to work programs
- Responsible for the completion of Annual Employment Equity Report
- Responsible for performance management in conjunction with management
- Conduct and manage the internal investigation process
- Support full cycle recruitment including posting and advertising positions, pre-screening, scheduling interviews, preparing interview packages, participating in interviews, completing reference checks, creating offer letters and managing new hire documentation
- Source and attract top talent - including highly skilled roles
- Provide service to internal and external customers on all HR inquiries and requests
- Contribute to employee retention process
- Make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, and regulations
- Perform all other human resources duties as assigned by HR Director and/or Senior Leadership
- Oversee and support other junior members of the HR team
- Provide ongoing HR support in the absence of the HR Director

**Minimum Education and Experience**:

- Post-Secondary education in Human Resources
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in a Human Resources Manager or equivalent role
- Experience working in a unionized environment with ability to read and understand collective agreements
- Extensive recruiting experience and knowledge including recruitment for skilled and hard to fill roles and social media use for recruiting
- Experience administering policies and procedures
- Experience using and maintaining an HRIS system
- Experience managing internal investigations and complaint resolution
- Knowledge of Canada Labour Code considered an asset
- Experience processing and managing leaves and return to work processes
- Strong knowledge of office programs, including word, excel, power point and outlook
- Ability to obtain and maintain a WAA (RAIC) pass
- Valid driver’s license

**Working Conditions**:

- Travel by flight required which may include overnight travel
- Evening, weekend and on call work as required
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Office work, including long periods of sitting
- Attend and participate in offsite company interested events including community or base events, job fairs and other recruiting events
