Tundra is excited to announce an opportunity for a **Manager of Human Resources**, based out of the Calgary, Winnipeg, or Virden, Manitoba office.
Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, the **Human Resources Manager** will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and processes aligned with the overall business strategy. Act as a strategic partner to Tundra’s leadership and manage a team of HR professionals, overseeing talent acquisition, learning and development, employee relations, and HR business partnering to optimize effectiveness and performance through our people and processes, creating a climate where we attract, develop, and retain the best talent.
**WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**:
- Under the guidance of the VP, HR guide the HR team through process improvements, delivery and decision making, core and advisory HR practices.
- Enable the foundation of HR practices, optimize programs so that strategic focus becomes more accessible.
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
- Lead the organization, through the Hoshin Kanri methodology, in driving a collaborative culture through the development and deployment of initiatives to foster an organization of strong teamwork and high-performance.
- Act HR Business Partner to a small client group
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues; Lead complex employee relations and investigations
- Design and manage employee surveys and employee experience tools (employee engagement survey, exit interviews, stay interviews) to gather data and take action based on insights.
- Lead the organization in inclusion and belonging programs and practices.
- Contribute to the workforce planning budget process
- Oversee a proactive sourcing strategy to enable a diverse and inclusive workforce, including a strong Summer Student and Campus program
- Ensure Tundra’s performance program enables strong goal setting, coaching, and delivery on Tundra’s goals through the contributions of all employees.
- Lead talent assessments and succession plans for critical roles
- Oversee learning and development programs for a culture of professional development at Tundra.
- Oversee the implementation of a training program and guideline for employee development; oversee the development of leadership programs at Tundra
- Ensuring performance system and calibration aligns with pay for performance
- Oversee Tundra’s service award program and other recognition initiatives
- Key stakeholder and partner in the planning, pre-implementation, and implementation of a new HRIS
- Review and update HR policy in line with legislative changes and company initiatives; ensure legal compliance throughout human resources management
- Interpret retention, turnover, demographic and other HR data and generate recommendations for improved HR programs at Tundra.
- Analyze competitor’s practices and make recommendations to management.
- Assist with preparing materials for the Board of Directors
**WHAT YOU NEED**:
- Post-secondary degree with an emphasis in a human resource or business-related field is preferred, although a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is required.
- 10+ years of experience working in the human resources field.
- 3 - 5+ years of leadership experience.
- Prior experience with HRIS software is required; system implementation experience is a strong asset
- Prior project management experience is a strong asset
