We are an FSR-A ticketed general electrical contractor with deep design-build electrical trade experience, specializing in solar energy and energy storage integration. Since 2011, we have had the opportunity to work in diverse environments, spanning western Canada. We are passionate about long-term participation in the growing renewable energy industry in western Canada.
**Position Location**: Option to work in-person either in Victoria, or Cumberland BC.
**Starting Wage**: $87,000 - $99,500 annually, dependent on experience

**About the role**:
- Hakai Energy Solutions is looking for a Project Manager (permanent full-time) to become part of our team of solar professionals. This individual is self-motivated, energetic, personable, and excited to work as part of a fast-growing EPC company in the solar industry.
- The Project Manager maintains strong analytical skills, and is a natural problem solver, willing to take on a challenging, dynamic role in the company. This position will report directly to senior managers.
- The Project Manager will work alongside Hakai construction leads, subcontractors, material procurement coordinators, engineering, installers, finance, and other support staff. The position will provide overall leadership in safety, project quality, timing, cost control, reporting and mentorship.

- Ability to lead with excellent decision-making skills
- Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and collaborative communication.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with project stakeholders on remote and in person meetings.
- Willingness to gain a technical aptitude for renewable energy system design, materials, and integration concepts.
- Passion for solar energy, electrification, and the growing renewable energy industry in Canada.
- Self-starter, must be able to be proactive to effectively steer projects without direct supervision or explicit directions.
- Must be adaptable, handling multiple project variables and maintaining project deadlines.
- Ability to work in person at one of our offices located in Victoria or Cumberland BC, with occasional travel in company vehicles for meetings with clients and site visits. This is not a remote position during the initial stages, and limited opportunity may exist following successful performance reviews.
- Clear demonstration of ability to work with a diverse team and client environment.
- Computer and software proficiency including Microsoft 365. Skills testing will take place during the interview stage.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record. A company vehicle will be provided for all work-related activities.
**Preference given to applicants with**:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Degree or certificate from a relevant field, or equivalent renewables or construction industry experience.
- Experience working for an EPC company or organization.
- Strong understanding of current events, policies, and trends in electrification, renewable energy and solar in Canada.
- 5+ years’ experience in construction/design-build projects.
- Experience managing or coordinating in multi-stakeholder teams and multiple projects.
- Experience with Project Management software(s).
**Duties include but are not limited to**:
- Managing client correspondence, shop drawings packages, design deliverables, project tracking, health & safety, and client turnover documentation.
- Manage project timelines from pre-construction, through delivery, to close-out.
- Proactively prepare and communicate correct project status summaries and detailed reports to the senior management team, and clients.
- Coordinate with internal technical service, procurement management, inventory controllers, project coordinators.
- Manage project reporting, manage overall project cost, safety management and performance tracking.
- Work directly with finance, sales and field crews to manage client expectations.
- Manage and oversee client and subtrades correspondence.
- Coordinate with external groups as required (engineering, municipal, consultants, other trades, etc.)
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety requirements as well as COR compliance for all work activities.
