**Position Summary**:
The incumbent will assist with the delivery of interactive programs promoting inclusive participation,
adapted sport and physical activity to schools, community groups and organizations. Program delivery
takes place onsite at Variety Village as well as offsite locations. Training will be provided for the selected
applicants. Incumbents in this position are offered hours on an “as required” basis and the number of
hours offered are not guaranteed. The incumbent accepts or decline hours offered.
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Assisting the Program Coordinator with the delivery of Variety Village’s Ability in Action program
at Variety Village, off-site or on-line virtual learning for groups of various grades, ages and
abilities;
- Assisting with program activity equipment set up and take down;
- Promoting and engaging participation in program activities;
- Adhering to all Variety Village policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, AODA, and
Plan to Protect;
- Participating in Variety Village training sessions;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
**Key Competencies and Qualifications**:
- Diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure, Therapeutic Recreation, Disability Studies, Sport,
Fitness, Health or Wellness or a related field an asset;
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications an asset;
- Experience working with people of varied ages and abilities,
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation skills and team building experience working with groups of
- various sizes;
- Professional demeanor;
- Ability to provide high level inclusive customer service to internal and external customers;
- Dependable and reliable;
