About You and this Role

Dow’s Path2Zero Program is seeking a Maintenance Group Leader to support commissioning & start-up and maintenance activities for new Polyethylene Plants to be built at Dow’s Fort Saskatchewan site in Alberta, Canada.

In this role, you will be responsible for building the new maintenance organization and taking ownership for the long-term maintenance of the plant. This includes hiring 20+ Dow employees in 2025/2026 that will support the facility long term. These roles will align to you administratively, while initially taking direction from the P2Z Maintenance Representative and the core Commissioning and Start Up team for the Gas Phase Polyethylene plant (LP8) and new Solution Polyethylene plants (Train 4 & 5), developing detailed job plans, schedules, and resourcing plans.

Post project, you will be part of the Alberta Operations Zone B Maintenance Leadership team and will work together to define the optimal organization structure to effectively lead the maintenance teams supporting all plastics assets. You will have accountability to drive maintenance productivity for your assigned area. Serving as the maintenance process and discipline owner and administrative resource leader with responsibility for safety, reliability and cost management. Responsibilities
- Fosters Environmental Health & Safety engagement, particularly in the field and in the areas of personal safety and compliance.
- A clear focus will exist on creating a Highly Reliable Organizational culture and the elimination of unplanned events by implementing reliability and maintenance services and solutions.
- Completes the requirements of the Performance Management Process for Maintenance direct reports which is leveraged to support meaningful opportunities for leader/employee engagement. This includes coaching and career development.
- Performs appropriate manufacturing roles as determined by plant and site.
- Acts as a primary back-up to the Maintenance Leader.
- Implements and provides on-going support of the Maintenance Procedure Use Policy at the facility.
- Ensures all Maintenance Procedures will include a hazard assessment indicating safety, health and environmental considerations and control measures to prevent contact or exposure.

Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
- Currently registered with APEGA (EIT/P. Eng) or willing & able to become registered within 1 year of hire.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience (e.g. maintenance, engineering, manufacturing or related)
- Ability to safely work in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment. Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
- Willing and able to travel up to 10% annually (internationally & domestically).
- A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.

Preferred Skills
- Proactive Problem Solving - Ensure the maintenance team is adequately resourced and has the support available to solve equipment reliability issues.
- Change Management - Act as change leader in the workgroup and facility by supporting the implementation of work process improvements and adoption of digital tools and devices.
- Communication - Effectively bring the maintenance and operations organizations together as one team to safely execute maintenance work and drive overall plant reliability in a collaborative environment.
