Payroll Clerk

Position Overview:
**Responsibilities**:
Payroll
- Completes Canadian weekly payrolls including confirming time entries, monitoring hours, managing deductions/garnishments/allowances, correcting coding errors, submitting to banks, posting to GLs, and completing remittances.
Manage all changes to employees including employee setups, changes to positions, wages, departments, etc. as the changes relate to payroll.
Participate in the ongoing enhancements to payroll software and employee interfacesPrepare payroll reports for management as needed.
Answer all employee questions related to payroll and work
Build strong relationships and rapport with all levels of management and employees throughout the organization.
Assist with year-end payroll processing and reporting requirements
Accounts Receivable
- Progressive invoices creating weekly (AR) invoicesPreparing a monthly sales report for management
Checking AR invoice accuracy by verifying all details to the customer purchase order, packing slip, and compliance certificate where relevant and resolving any discrepancies
Monitoring, processing, and posting all incoming AR & miscellaneous cash receipts
Assisting in resolving any AR issues and questionsPreparing bank depositsAssisting in reconciling the accounts receivable ledger where required
Performing other duties that may be assigned
Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Spectrum Software is an asset.
Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
Good time management and organizational skills
Able to prioritize and multitask effectively
Demonstrates effective oral and written communication with the employees and external agencies.
Demonstrates information gathering skills used to find and identify essential information.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to reliably commute to Weston and Hwy 7
