The Team Leader promotes GBGH’s Mission, Vision and Values and is a role model for teamwork, leadership and professionalism on the unit, which supports sustainability through the organization as a whole. The Team Leader assists in the provision of clinical patient care and works in collaboration with the Surgical Services Manager to identify and resolve clinical patient care issues. The Team Leader facilitates the development of staff clinical knowledge, skills and teamwork needed to function efficiently and effectively in their assigned roles. The Team Leader is involved in identifying and managing specific requirements of the surgical specialty to ensure a positive perioperative experience for the patient. The Team Leader should demonstrate professionalism, dedication and commitment in their standards of practice.

Job Requirements:
**QUALIFICIATIONS**
- Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.)
- Current ACLS and PALS Certification
- PACU certification
- Leadership recognized certificate
- Perioperative certification
- Medical Reprocessing Certificate
- 2-3 years current clinical-related /leadership experience and appropriate courses for the Surgical program
- Demonstrated ability to organize well, communicates effectively at all levels, function in a stressful environment and work with mínimal direction
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
- Recent experience applicable to the unit.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and life long learning.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, communication skills necessary to promote positive interdisciplinary team dynamics.
- Demonstrated team approach and professional attitude with internal and external team members, including a good working knowledge of community resources.
- Demonstrate positive customer service behaviours and commitment to patient-focussed care.
- Demonstrated ability for multi-tasking, critical thinking, effective problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated initiative to participate in hospital activities.

**PREFERRED**
- Evidence of ongoing education (e.g. workshops, seminars, etc.)
- Endoscopy certification
- Quality Improvement Initiatives
- CPN C certification

**ASSESTS**
- Bilingual - English and French
- Knowledge of PICC line initiative
- Knowledge/experience in Endoscopy suite/Ambulatory Care Department.

**COMPENSATION**

- Hourly rate of pay $43.07-$60.00, three (3) weeks vacation to start

**HOURS OF WORK**

Permanent Full Time. Scheduled shifts are Monday to Friday with variety of start times. This position does include on call for evenings, nights, weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA collective agreement.
