The Home Construction Regulatory Authority (HCRA) is a not-for-profit corporation that is designated by the provincial government of Ontario to administer and enforce the New Home Construction Licensing Act, 2017 and associated regulations. HCRA holds licensed builders to professional standards, protects the public interest, and enhances consumer confidence in the homebuilding industry in Ontario. In addition, HCRA strives to educate consumers to ensure that they can make informed decisions and understand the benefits of a regulated homebuilding sector. **WHAT THE POSITION IS**:
We are looking for a **Manager, Communications & Engagement** to oversee and align marketing and communication strategies, materials, and external relations efforts to promote and build brand equity for the HCRA.

To support the HCRA in educating consumers and upholding high professional standards for the home building industry, the Manager, Communications & Engagement will focus their efforts in four key areas:
(1**) Brand & Content**: leading a digital-first marketing strategy and overseeing the development of related materials including web, digital content, ad targeting, SEO/SEM;

(2) **Stakeholder Relations & Outreach**: driving comprehensive engagement initiatives including education programs, events and resource guides to promote consumer protection and awareness of the HCRA. You will be communicating with the public, government, and industry stakeholders;

(3)** Issues Management & Media Relations**: advising and crafting compelling and concise key messaging for both proactive and reactive opportunities and emerging issues;

(4) **Leadership**: providing effective leadership and contribute to a positive, high-performing team and provide coaching/mentoring as needed. Currently, this position will be managing two direct reports.

**WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE**:
It is important to this role to have **excellent verbal and written communications skills** to effectively develop and manage key communication strategies. Experience in **developing, implementing, and managing diverse outreach and education programs** is also an indicator of success, along with strong **relationship building** abilities.

Those who have been successful at HCRA are detail oriented and self-motivated. Driven individuals with strong communication skills are critical as stakeholder experience, problem solving, and continuous communication is crucial in our day-to-day operations. The ability to handle multiple **simultaneous activities on tight deadlines** is a reality and being motivated by providing a fair, safe, and effective regulation operation is a key indicator that our organization may be for you.
