The Office of the Dean provides leadership for the Faculty’s academic, budgetary and planning processes and sets the strategic leadership of one of the world’s top-ranked engineering schools. The Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering is led by a dedicated and diverse group of academic and administrative professionals who exemplify excellence in their fields.

**Description**:
Working as an integral part of the collaborative HR team, the incumbent provides a wide range of human resource services to clients (both faculty and staff) within the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering.

The responsibilities of the incumbent continuously evolve and are flexible and responsive to the given priorities of the day, working collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

**Education**:
University degree in a relevant field of study; completion of (or working towards) Certificate in Human Resource Management (CHRP).

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working in a Human Resources office with experience in recruitment, job evaluation, general advising related to policy and collective agreement interpretation.
- Familiarity with academic environments preferred.
- Experience working with databases, applicant tracking systems and/or HRIS / Payroll systems.

**Skills**:

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to exercise a high degree of sensitivity, responsiveness, and confidentiality regarding sensitive human resources issues
- Ability to take the initiative and work independently with mínimal supervision

- Must have demonstrated the ability to build effective working relationships in a manner that engenders support and cooperation.

**Work location**: This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the University of Toronto’s Alternative Work Arrangements Guideline.
