**Job Summary**:
The Brilliant Ventures fund (BV), facilitated by Brilliant Catalyst at Ontario Tech University, is an all-encompassing initiative tailored to nurture and amplify tech-powered start-ups.
**Nature of work**:
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, Brilliant Ventures, the Program Officer will oversee the design and delivery of Brilliant Ventures programs, initiatives, workshops, events and services. The Program Officer will also provide entrepreneurial support and mentorship to the various Startup companies that are part of the Brilliant Catalyst and Brilliant Ventures communities. This position will work closely with the Portfolio Manager, Brilliant Ventures to ensure that all operational needs are met, and to ensure that Brilliant Ventures programs are being delivered efficiently and effectively. The Program Officer will contribute to other special projects as required.
**Responsibilities/accountabilities**:
- ** **Develop policies and administer programs under Brilliant Ventures
- Review and Evaluate existing program performance and delivery
- Conduct market research and develop strategies to attract new business opportunities
- Plan development projects and co-ordinate activities with representatives of a wide variety of industrial and commercial enterprises, community and business associations and government agencies
- Respond to enquiries from members of the business community, entrepreneurship ecosystem and general public concerning partnership opportunities
- Supervise students, consultants as appropriate
- Act as liaison and advisor to relevant on-campus student organizations (e.g. Enactus)
- Coordinate formal (e.g. newsletter, social media) communications with students and other constituencies as may be determined from time to time including event announcements, relevant competitions and grant opportunities.
- Provide consultation on planning and starting of new businesses in collaboration with members of the Brilliant mentor network.
- Represent Brilliant Ventures at various external and internal events
- Reports to the Portfolio Manager, Brilliant Ventures

**Education**:
- ** **Completion of a University Program consisting of Four Academic Years or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Bachelors of Commerce with a specialization in Entrepreneurship preferred
- Verification of Academic credentials may be required
Required Experience:
- ** **Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Experience working with students, faculty and alumni
- Experience with entrepreneurship programming and concepts
- Experience in entrepreneurial ecosystem
- Experience in university management environment and university student organizations
- Experience in working with industry and government partners
