The Mountain Events worker is responsible for assisting the Supervisor, Mountain Events in the on-hill activation of Blue Mountain summer and winter events.

**Hourly Rate: $18.45**

**Status: Seasonal, Part Time**

**Start: December 15th**

**Must be able to work up to 60hrs for the entire winter season**

**WHAT WILL I BE DOING?**
- Physical set up, monitoring and take down of events and equipment
- Assist with event registration event requirements
- Assist with event risk management event requirements
- Liaise with the public, entertainers, performers, third party operators, sponsors and others as an ambassador of Blue Mountain Resort
- Follow the procedures required in setting up a race course or event.
- Ensure that all signage has been placed for general public awareness of closed ski runs.
- Ensure all objects are off the hill before reopening the ski run.
- Race and event crew Workers, in conjunction with volunteers and coaches, will ensure that all race and event courses are maintained to ensure safety of all athletes or clients by continuous slipping and re-screwing or replacing gates, maintaining event fence and course branding, assist with maintenance of event course.
- Be ready and well equipped, with a drill, gate key, and extra gates to be able to react to maintenance issues. Assist with officiating roles including event starter, timer, course sweep, course maintenance
- Other duties as assigned

**WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?**
- Post-secondary education in Marketing/Events is an asset
- ** Able to ski or snowboard down-hill carrying up to 50 pounds**:

- Responsible for setting ribbon or fencing at appropriate placement on hill, depending on event being trained.
- Safety must be considered when setting courses. Course must be set the level of the athletes or clients.
- Problems involve broken equipment that needs to be removed from the hill for safety and repair.
- Course breaks down due to poor conditions and extra work must be done to smooth it out.
- Previous experience with drills and other power tools
- Snowmobile experience considered an asset
