The Relief Program Facilitator will be responsible for assisting in any of the Girls’ and Family Programs on a relief basis (Here to Help, Teen Mothers, Girls’ Centre). They will be responsible to work as a part of a collaborative team to offer in person programming as well as virtual programming to the children, youth and adults participating in the programs.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Applies knowledge of the issues of trauma to respond to and implement support strategies for children, youth and adults;
- Applies knowledge, stays current and demonstrates skills in the area of child/youth development and parenting;
- Uses mediation and counseling skills to maintain a cooperative, supportive and productive program environment;
- Works within a team environment; provides support and information to team members and assists with supervising volunteers and students when required;
- Facilitates groups and activities to respond to participant needs, following established curriculum when required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- In-depth knowledge of an academic discipline normally acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree specializing in youth development (for example BSW or Bachelor of Child and Youth) **(Cases for Equivalency will be considered)**;
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in counselling and group work with participants at risk including experience and training working with mothers in the areas of child/youth development and parenting;
- Knowledge of the impacts of trauma at various stages of child development;
- Knowledge of child protection legislation and systems;
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of abuse/violence against women and children;
- Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of workshops and groups ;
- Counselling approach that is flexible, de-escalates tension, teaches conflict resolution and is focused on success;
- Ability to deliver culturally sensitive services in a multicultural environment;
- Ability to work with an anti-oppression and feminist framework;
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure;
- Ability to handle crisis situations;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
