Newborn Care Specialist/ Night Nanny/ Post Partum Doula
Helping Hands Nanny and Au Pair Services
Job Responsibilities
- Provide high level post partum care in the home of families with newborn babies.
- Provide non-biased emotional, physical, and informational support during the postpartum period.
- Encourage the family to seek care that reflects their values and needs.
- Mode and teach effective communication.
- Encourage informed decision-making.
- Support physical and emotional healing.
- Provide information on care options and resources.
- Model infant care.
- Encourage the family to make parenting choices that reflect their values and needs.
- Support and assist with infant feeding.
- Educate family on newborn care and characteristics.
- Educate families how to maximize age-appropriate infant sleep.
- Assist with household organization and light tasks such as bottle washing and sterilization and washing the infant’s laundry.
- Provide resources when support requires a healthcare professional, clinical assessment, a need for prescription, or medical diagnosis.
- Overnight care when requested.
- Help establish a healthy schedule and routine.
Job Qualifications
- Must be at 18 years old.
- Can work up to full time hours, including overnights.
- Education or certification to support this role. Ex a certified postpartum doula. Nursing diploma or certificate.
- Previous work experience is considered an asset.
- Standard Childcare First Aid CPR Level B or First Aid CPR Level C is required.
- Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrate a high level of organization and multitasking skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
- Ability to receive constructive feedback and work collaboratively.
Hours of work: Varies.
Wage: Varies
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual
Pay: $15.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

- childcare: 1 year (preferred)
