Concierge - Evanston Summit - Full Time Temporary position (7am-3pm)

**PURPOSE**:
Covenant Living welcomes all who share a call to serve those most in need.

The position of Concierge-Night Shift will commit to incorporate our mission, vision, and our values, which are Compassion, Collaboration, Respect, Social Justice, Integrity and Stewardship, and uphold our ethical traditions as foundational aspects in all actions and decision-making.
With functional support, guidance and supervision provided by the Site Manager, the Concierge will carry out various duties and services as outlined by Covenant Living Policies and Procedures. In the absence of a Covenant Living policy, Covenant Care policies and procedures will be followed. Work often involves interactions and assistance to residents requiring active problem solving, compassion and effective interpersonal skills.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Ensures individual resident needs and preferences are addressed in regards to hospitality services

**SCOPE**:
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Concierge - performs various tasks and works alone. This position is responsible to provide hourly check-ins to ensure health and safety of self and residents. The overall focus of the position is resident safety, hospitality and building security. If this position is working alone concierge staff will have a paid break (30 minutes), given the work hours/working alone and will not be permitted to leave the building and must be in view of the main door as much as possible, in the event of an emergency.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:

- This position requires a minimum Grade 12 education, food safety certificate, First Aid & CPR certification.

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and desktop publishing programs. 5 years of direct experience within a service/hospitality industry is preferred. Ability to show initiative, work alone and independently without supervision, able to set priorities, self-motivated, able to work under pressure and deal with people in a conflict situation. Knowledge of and ability to make decisions conforming to Covenant Living’s established policies and procedures. Ability to maintain good working relations with staff, public and outside agencies. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, time management and communication skills. Proficient in handling multiple priorities and adapting quickly to an ever-changing environment. Flexibility with changes in the organization and maintains a positive outlook.
