**Position Summary**:
The Medical Proofreader (Quality Assurance Specialist) position is responsible for the timely review of complex clinical reports to ensure quality and consistency. This position requires reviewing and revising reports to address spelling and grammatical errors, identifying inconsistencies and omissions as well as formatting the final report in accordance with company editing and formatting procedures and ensuring the final report is in compliance with Q Medical quality standards.

This position will report to the Director of Operations and will be an in office position. The position will work out of our North York Office.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Review medical assessment reports for wording, spelling, grammar and punctuation;
- Fact check information/details within the assessment reports to ensure the information is accurate and consistent;
- Edit errors and omissions using track changes;
- Communicate regularly with regulated healthcare professions regarding proposed edits in a professional manner;
- Ensure that reports have consistently and thoroughly answered all referral source questions;
- Format reports and create Word and PDF versions;
- Preparation of Document Lists; and
- Other responsibilities as required.

**Position Requirements**

**Education and Experience**:

- 1-5 years of experience reviewing medical reports
- _**Working knowledge of SABS an asset**_
- _**Prior MVA industry experience an asset**_
- University Degree in a related field (Health Sciences, SABS, etc.)

**Knowledge and Skill Requirements**:

- Medical terminology and clinical knowledge
- Experience reviewing and editing medical reports
- Knowledge of the Statutory Accident Benefit Schedule (SABS)
- _Healthcare professional designation an asset_
- Strong communication skills verbally and written and in a professional manner
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and reasoning skills to analyze and interpret information;
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, external partners and providers;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Extensive experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Word;
- **Meticulous attention to detail;**:

- **Ability to maintain confidentiality.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
