Talent Acquisition Specialist

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Partners closely with hiring managers and department leaders to efficiently and effectively fulfill hiring requests
- Analyzes, screens resumes, and interviews applicants that match job descriptions and information from relevant managers
- Arranges reference and background checks for potential employees
- Develops social media campaign strategies and creates engaging and innovative content
- Manages and monitors all social media accounts
- Works a hybrid model when not travelling in Ontario, Saskatchewan, or Alberta. Travel estimated to be 15%
- Participates in other special projects as assigned

Skills and special specifications:

- Exceptional communication skills: written, verbal and oral
- Strong interpersonal skills; excellent listener
- Demonstrated understanding of general recruiting principles and industry best practices
- Detail oriented with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Strong knowledge of the company, industry and competitors
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, etc.
- Proven track record of handling confidential information

Education and experience qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration
- Minimum of 3+ years’ recruiting experience in heavy industry where skilled trades make up half of the workforce
- Knowledge of Paycor or similar tracking system, and Workday’s recruitment module
- Legally permitted to work throughout Canada without sponsorship
