Fitness & Wellness Program Coordinator City of Fort Saskatchewan Reporting to the Supervisor, DCC, Arena, and Taurus Field, the Coordinator is responsible for planning and implementing annual recreation initiatives and services. The role oversees development and coordination of fitness and wellness programs, staff schedules, training, coaching, and program evaluation. The Coordinator delivers exceptional customer service to patrons, staff, and external agencies. Duties Supervise and provide leadership, direction, support, training and evaluation of Fitness Attendants and contract Fitness Instructors. Plan, coordinate and deliver programs and activities for community recreation programs for all age groups with focus on adults and seniors. Assist with preparation, planning and developing annual budget for area of responsibility. Network with municipalities and provincial organizations to share information. Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and staff training for program areas. Ensure all customer service practices adhere to city‑wide practices. Requirements Minimum two‑year Post Secondary Diploma in Recreation or related field. Five years experience in recreation, leisure & cultural programming, with three years progressive supervisory experience. Certified (AFLCA – theory and group fitness, Standard First Aid, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, Supervisory Development Program and other fitness & wellness certifications) are assets. Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License required. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, understanding of recreation service trends, interviewing, training, evaluation experience required. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite essential. A Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check and current Driver’s Abstract will be required at hire and interview respectively. Hours of Work 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday (may vary depending on operational need, facility events and training). Salary & Benefits Competitive compensation package with a salary range of $83,382 – $98,104.50 per annum.
