**Youth Coordinator - Job Description**
Reporting to the Program Manager, this position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day supervision and facilitation of all youth programs within BGC Fort Saskatchewan. This position will also be responsible for the direct implementation of all youth programs, BGC directives and any associated requirements as directed by the organization. The Youth Coordinator will support the Program Manager in any areas that are deemed fit such as filing, supervising, and staffing youth programs. The Youth Coordinator will represent BGC and will do their utmost to develop and maintain a positive relationship with any staff, school partners, parents, community partners, and community members associated with the organization in any capacity. The Youth Coordinator will always represent BGC Strathcona County and its interests as an essential part of the leadership team within the organization.
Youth programming will take place Monday - Friday from 11:00am - 9:00pm. All youth school-based programs will run weekly. The Youth Coordinator must be available to be reached in cases of emergency from the hours of 9:00am - 9:00pm Monday to Friday. All BGC Fort Saskatchewan staff are expected to be punctual and interact in a professional manner.
**Program Development & Implementation**
1. Develop and facilitate captivating, ever changing, and engaging programs that align with the BGC core values. Ensure programs are age appropriate while always being developmentally suitable for the various ages the program serves. All activities must meet the physical, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional needs of participants that attend each program.
2. Implement program directives as assigned by the Program Manager.
3. Ensure all program, building, and program requirements are being met. Including all proper documentation is posted, staff certifications, menus, calendars, and level requirements are met.
4. Coordinate and manage all youth programs including the development of activity plans, staff facilitation, and provision of BGC equipment and supplies.
6. Help in support of the creation and ensured implementation of programs to recognize significant days and events such as Anti-bullying Day, Truth & Reconciliation, Black History Month, Earth Day, etc.
7. Ensure the creation, implementation, budgets, staffing, and program plans for successful youth programs.
8. Ensure that all youth programs provide a safe and caring environment, promotes positive youth development while providing mentoring opportunities for all children and youth.
9. Work to develop positive relationships with all BGC Fort Saskatchewan staff.
10. Ensure the successful opening and closure of the BGC Fort Saskatchewan building if applicable.
11. Ensure the successful implementation of selected volunteers into all identified youth programs as directed by Director of Youth Programs.

**Personnel & Site Management and Supervision**
13. Ensure BGC youth program staff fulfill expectations of position as detailed in “BGC Youth Program Staff - Job Description”. Implementation of correct training, mentorship, and discipline as necessary when these expectations are not performed to the standard required. Set realistic goals and facilitate opportunities for BGC Program Staff to grow, develop, and practice skills necessary for success within all youth programs.
14. Communicate effectively with all BGC Staff. Encourage team building and positive working relationships through accountability, reliability, and constructive feedback. Utilize the strengths of your team and the individuals it is comprised of to best achieve a successful program.
15. Supervise and assist BGC Youth Program Staff. Assist where needed with program maintenance, program facilitation, and cleaning duties as required or needed, including the ongoing maintenance of and accountability for BGC equipment.
16. Supervise and assist with the sign-in and sign-out system, ensure all youth are confirmed and accounted for in a timely fashion.
17. Demonstrate full awareness of work health and safety issues/procedures including emergency procedures. Take a lead role in promoting and supporting safety and well-being of children, youth, and staff. Anticipating and responding appropriately to potential threats.
18. Ensure the safety and security of all youth programs and its attendees, assist where needed in responding to critical incidents and follow up on incidents in accordance with the policies and procedures in place.
19. Help identify gap areas and training that would benefit staff to the betterment of the organization. Help assist Executive Team in the assignment of such trainings for program staff.
20. Participate in scheduled staff meetings and trainings, send monthly reports on program location activities and relevant information of programs to Program Manager to enable to correct reporting to Executive Director.
