We are currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our internal team based out of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

THE JOB:

Working as part of the Corporate Services Team, you will execute the human resources and safety agenda for the organization. We place a focus on growing the company and understand that human resources play an important part of our growth strategy. Overseeing the occupational health and safety program for the company, you will work with our wide range of clients to understand their safety protocols and making sure that our temporary associates are sent to safe working environments. Should a workplace injury occur, you will help facilitate a safe return-to-work program. You will work with our internal team to build our bench of talented team members and enhance our capabilities through continuous improvement initiatives and performance development activities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Maintain and enhance Occupational Health & Safety Program
  2. Manage Workers’ Compensation claims process and facilitate safe return-to-work programs
  3. Responsible for development and implementation of HR policies, practices, and programs
  4. Ensure client compliance with occupational health and safety by performing site audits
  5. Recruit for internal team members to facilitate growth within our teams
  6. Develop on-boarding schedules for internal hires and facilitate company mentorship program
  7. Execute annual Performance Development Review process and ensure that performance standards for each position are clearly articulated and understood by all internal personnel
  8. Act as primary contact for day-to-day Human Resources inquiries
  9. Ensure company maintains compliance with applicable provincial employment legislation
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources Management
  • Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or working toward designation considered an asset
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in similar Health and Safety role
  • Existing knowledge of continuous improvement principles
  • Goal oriented, strong follow-up and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated execution
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to change focus quickly
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm and motivation
