Business Development Manager

Summary:
The Business Development Manager is a senior position in the sales function, being based out of our Mississauga, ON location, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the Ontario team of sales professionals, whom identify, target and bring in new opportunities in order to facilitate growth and new business.

It is the responsibility of the Business Development Manager to promote AGAT Laboratories’ entire portfolio of services. Providing the team direction in strategy, mentorship, and showcase strong relationship building with clientele, as well as aids their group in identification of new business opportunities and customer retention.

Additionally this role will support the team in business success while directing the group on the principles, mission statement and target initiatives of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, coach, develop and maintain a strong group of sales individuals to company growth successes.
  • Develop aggressive strategic annual sales plans aimed at improving the overall position of AGAT in the marketplace and budgeted sales objectives.
  • Participate in the development and lead the execution of marketing plans for targeted account growth.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with senior business leaders, management and other key decision makers of companies to aid in continued growth and opportunity for AGAT.
  • Responsible for the preparation of all contract and service agreement renewals for large clientele.
  • Work with Senior Account Executives and regional sales teams to leverage national relationships on a regional basis.
  • Work with AGAT customer service and laboratory teams to ensure ‘Service Beyond Analysis’ is consistently achieved and every requirement of the customer is appropriately addressed and resolved.
  • Monitor competitive market activity, continually gather and communicate competitive information, prospect for new business and capitalize on opportunities available in existing locations.
  • Solicit new business opportunities for AGAT Laboratories and identify sales opportunities to improve AGAT Laboratories’ position.
  • Understand the customer centric approach of AGAT Laboratories and promote its virtues to develop long lasting business relationships.
  • Prepare category and business reviews and leverage insights to identify sales opportunities and improve our category position.
  • Work with operations determining both short and long term contract rates and agreements that benefit AGAT.
  • Attend educational workshops; be involved with professional associations and attend tradeshows.
  • Perform administrative duties where necessary.
Qualifications:
  • BSc degree in the Sciences/Business or equivalent.
  • Minimum (5) five years of experience in sales with previous management/leadership preferred.
  • Professional, positive and outgoing demeanor with excellent relationship building skills.
  • Ability to deliver clear and concise sales presentations.
  • Strong analytical, planning, negotiation, and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient with standard office computer technology such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Unquestionable work ethic and ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record, willing to travel Work

Environment:
This position requires a person to walk, stand and lift throughout the shift in an office environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. Will be requested to work overtime, weekends and for special program events.
