Job Title Salon Business Consultant Job Description Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist role covering and growing a territory in and around Sudbury, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, Espanola, Elliot Lake, Blind River, Mattawa, Deep River, Pembroke, New Liskeard, Kirkland Lake, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Hearst, Moosonee Ontario Canada (ON). Ideal candidate would reside in or very near the following cities: Sudbury, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins ON. Uncapped Commission, vehicle reimbursement plan and full benefits Essential Functions Salon/Beauty Industry experience highly preferred. The Salon Business Consultant is responsible for an assigned territory of customers to help grow salons' overall sales. The Consultant will be responsible for meeting and achieving assigned sales goals by utilizing manufacturer education and sales resources, expanding sales through new doors and new products, and using social media to serve salons, barbers, spas, schools, and licensed beauty professionals. Primary Duties Grow the Business: Identify key accounts within territory and establish an efficient route to grow existing customers while seeking new partnerships. Assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring and tracking in‑salon promotions and programs. Determine customers’ needs and offer products and services. Communicate sales initiatives through partnership with vendors to achieve corporate sales goals. Respond to all email, text, and phone communication within 24 hours. Analyze accounts to decide brand support and promotions needed. Call on customers in person to execute sales goals. Process returns and complete required documentation promptly. Collaborate with business functions (customer service, accounts receivable, IT, etc.). Prospect for new customers through cold calling and digital outlets. Manage administrative aspects—including daily order entry and salesforce.com updates. Use social media to attract and retain salon clientele. Conduct effective in‑person and virtual product knowledge classes. Communicate progress and needs to the Manager. Grow Team and Culture: Serve as a subject matter expert on digital platforms and share knowledge with peers. Attend meetings, functions, and events; maintain regular contact. Be available for shows, displays, and other physical activities. Support new initiatives with a growth mindset and positive change management. Grow Yourself: Exhibit a desire to learn and grow, focusing on continuous improvement. Attend business development days to increase product knowledge. Allocate time to learning resources. Remain agile to market changes. Increase product, industry, and market knowledge. Create an organized workflow to efficiently serve customers. Experience and Skills Required High school diploma or equivalent certification. Minimum 1 year demonstrated outside sales or beauty industry experience with consultative selling. Must live within the assigned territory. Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising preferred. Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms. Excellent computer skills, including salesforce.com, Outlook, PDF Expert, Oracle; experience with iPad a plus. Ability to build an online community and create social connections. Requires local travel within the territory, attendance at shows/conventions, educational events, including overnight travel and/or weekend nights. Ability to work safely in a constant state of alertness. Frequent and prolonged periods of driving necessary. Committed to scheduled hours with flexibility for additional hours. Strong time management, organization, and multitasking skills. Professional business image and positive public interaction. Clear written and oral communication at all levels.
