The Opportunity:
As Director of Finance and Corporate Services, you are the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for both short- and long-term operating and capital budget strategies. As the subject matter expert, you are the trusted advisor to the CAO on all things financial. Your portfolio is rounded out with the development and responsibility for Legislative Services – resulting in a perfect blend of regulatory work and organizational support.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage short- and long-term operating and capital budget strategies.
- Serve as the Chief Financial Officer and trusted advisor to the CAO.
- Oversee Legislative Services and ensure compliance with regulations.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- CPA designation or equivalent; CLGM considered an asset.
- 5 – 7 years of increasingly responsible positions in complex, multi-faceted organizations, with a minimum of 2 years at a senior level in finance, administration, corporate services, or a related field.
- Experience with municipal legislation, regulations, and reporting requirements would be an asset.
In exchange for your education, experience, and enthusiasm for all things finance and legislation related, the Town offers a competitive salary ($120,000 - $150,000 depending upon experience), a comprehensive benefits plan, the provincial pension plan and a supplemental pension plan, starting with three weeks of vacation, increasing every year and 10 days management time off in lieu of additional hours.
