**Main Purpose of the Job**:
The goal of this position is to support Rowan House Society in securing sufficient financial resources in its efforts to address domestic violence and abuse in the community, specifically fundraising events, community presentations, donors, and sponsorships. Additionally, to support the Community Engagement team and the Executive Director for the long-term financial sustainability for the organization.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- In collaboration with the Executive Director, adhere and maintain Rowan House’s plan to enhance the organization's image in the community, promoting its programs.
- Keep accurate monthly records of philanthropy revenue
- Annually provide input to the Executive Director in developing expense and revenue budgets and determining required resources to meet the organization's needs. Annually prepare proposed budget for donor relations activities
- Every January, develop an annual strategic philanthropy program, including establishing priorities and timelines for the upcoming year in collaboration with the Executive Director and Community Engagement Team Lead
- In conjunction with the annual budget process, develop a strategic plan to attract and maintain major corporate donors and sponsors. Plan to be presented with departmental budget by the due date set by the Finance and Administration Director. The strategic plans will include goals, objectives, resources, timelines, budgets, and stewardship. This will be done with the whole Community Engagement Team
- Develop, direct, and/or execute all philanthropy activities to meet annual and specific project goals, including, but not limited to, donor cultivation, special events (sponsorships), and appropriate related initiatives. Review monthly to ensure goals are on target.
- Maintain and strengthen relations with existing donors in collaboration with the Executive Director
- Continually cultivate and update a portfolio of major gift prospects among business, individuals, service clubs, and foundation donors, this includes initiating presentations
- Research, identify and prioritize donors for solicitation of targeted financial support, matching donors' funding priorities with the work of the organization and its funding needs, in consultation with and to be finalized by the Community Engagement Team Lead and Executive Director
- Prospect and implement a corporate proposal plan
- Work with the Community Engagement Team Lead to develop Sponsorship packages for various events and campaigns including our main fundraising events and a new Room Sponsorship campaign, and then solicit identified prospects to reach the set goals.
- On an ongoing basis work with the Executive Director, to maintain and improve relationships with all levels of government, particularly those with a specific interest in the works of the organization
- Maintain your current and active donor/sponsorship prospects in the Raiser’s Edge Data base
- In collaboration with Executive Director and Community Engagement Team Lead, continually ensure a positive relationship with donors, stakeholders, government, volunteers, staff, local media, striving to be the charity of choice
- In collaboration with the Executive Director and the Community Engagement Team Lead, organize and implement the annual donor appreciation event
- Be innovative in developing new fundraising methods to create, and improve on new and current events as it relates to Major Gift Donors
- Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required
- Participate in annual performance reviews
- Take a proactive role in one’s own professional development and accountability for one’s practice
- Remain current and assist in developing Community Engagement procedures and best practices, in conjunction with the Executive Director, Community Engagement Team Lead and Research and Evaluation Lead.
- Understands, follows, and applies all Rowan House Societies Codes of Conduct
- Collaborate, communicates, and works well with team members and co-workers
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

**Qualifications**:

- Degree/Professional Certification in Fundraising or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Certified Fund Raising Executive preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Working knowledge of fund development principles and public relations
- Proven ability to work with a database system, preferably Raiser’s Edge
- Experience in completing research tasks such as donor prospecting
- Strong leadership skills
- Effective time management skills
- Knowledge of the effects of domestic violence and abuse
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and Rowan House’s mission, vision, and values
- Knowledge of community resources, specifically in the Foothills area
- Commitment to understanding cultural humility, diversity and supporting equality of opportunities
- Awareness of the unique cultural
