Maintenance Parts Coordinator

OverviewThe Maintenance Clerk is responsible for the organization and maintenance of the parts room and the tool crib. This position assists the maintenance mechanics and technicians by providing them with the tools and parts necessary to complete their projects. The coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining inventory by ordering and stocking parts as necessary.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and organize the maintenance parts area and the tool crib.Order requested items and log entries in the allocated software programs.Release or issue parts from the inventory system.Stock inbound parts in allocated bins or shelves.Take daily or weekly cycle counts of the inventory items in the maintenance parts area.Assist maintenance and engineering personnel to locate and record all parts used.Retrieve requested parts from suppliers with the company vehicle.Communicate with the parts room supervisor on a regular basis.Evaluate and make recommendations to improve parts room efficiency.Maintain daily logs and produce maintenance reports as required.Prepare packages for outbound shipping, including labeling.Communicate with outside vendors to ensure parts are ordered and delivered on time.Work with Planner/Scheduler to ensure parts are ready and staged for scheduled work orders.Ensure purchase orders provided to vendors are documented and tracked to budget.Assume additional duties as directed by supervisors and management.Flexibility to work overtime and non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Perform all other duties as assigned.Minimum Job RequirementsEducation/Certifications and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED.Previous experience in food manufacturing or a similar production environment, preferred.Some clerical background including: filing, typing, 10 key and data tracking.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesProficient use of a computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote) or related software.Must be able to drive a forklift and complete the Company’s mobile powered equipment training.Positive work attitude.Ability to produce and understand reports including debits and credits.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Working ConditionsDaily exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, odors, and varying lighting; noise and vibration; and seasonal weather elements.Exposure to mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, and potential exposure to infectious diseases.Ability to stand, walk, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, use fine dexterity, and reach, kneel, crawl, and twist as required.ExpectationsDemonstrate, promote, and exemplify the Company’s Core Values.We offer competitive compensation and benefits including health and dental coverage, retirement savings options, paid time off, and additional programs.
