People like youJob DescriptionThe Accounts Payable Specialist Co-Op interacts with Buyers, Receivers, and Approvers in order to process vendor invoices and manage vendor payments on a timely basis for a defined portfolio of vendors across North America. Reports to the Accounts Payable Manager, North America.What’s in it for youCompetitive compensation/pay packageBe part of a long-standing and stable industry leaderResponsibilitiesProcess daily invoice entry into our ERP system, ensuring the invoice matches against the system PO and system receiving documentWhen a PO is not required, manage the approval process by routing invoices to appropriate individuals and following up to ensure invoices are paid within the desired time frameAssist in payment runs—minimum 3 times per month—to ensure all vendors are paid on their due dates if approved in our ERP systemAssist with special payment runs to capture discounts or prevent operations issues (e.g., credit limits or service shutdowns)Sort and separate cheque payments and deliver to the appropriate person/group for signing approval and electronic copiesWork with procurement teams and vendors to resolve invoices with issues or missing approvalsReconcile vendor account statements when submitted to APAnswer vendor-related questions in a timely mannerMaintain organized filing and backups for non-automated ERP systems; manage storage filing annuallyIdeal Candidate0 to 3 years of hands-on full-cycle accounts payable experience in an ERP environmentKnowledge of basic finance and accounting principlesExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenStrong interpersonal skillsSelf-starter with ability to identify and solve problemsAttention to detail and well organizedIntermediate or higher Excel/Word proficiencyERP experience is an asset: JD Edwards, Concur, Inspyrus AP AutomationBenefits and Equal OpportunityIKO recognizes that its success is due to the strength of its employees.
