Our team is seeking to hire an **Accounts Payable Specialist.** We are looking for an organized, results-driven and professional Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Accounting Department.

**Responsibilities include, but not limited to**:

- Accounts Payable processing; preparing purchase orders, maintaining GL to ensure accuracy, communicate with suppliers/sub-trades.
- Accounts Receivable processing; invoicing clients.
- Posting and maintaining all vendor invoices and processing payments.
- Processing weekly payroll for salaried, union employees, and sub-contractors.
- Processing payroll inquires, maintaining employee records, and maintaining a strict confidentiality of all information and records at all times.
- Posting and managing recurring bills on a monthly basis.
- Analyzing processes and recommending changes based on understanding of financial priorities.
- Preparing Federal and Provincial tax remittances.
- Monthly accrual entries and prepaids.
- Bank reconciliations and posting.
- Generating standard financial reports as needed.
- Maintenance of accounting records.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's Degree or Post Secondary education in accounting, commerce, business or a related field with a specialization in accounting or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum three (3) years experience working in an accounting or financial role, performing payroll and financial accounting functions (Construction industry experience is an asset).
- Knowledge of payroll and financial accounting principals.
- Experience in reconciliation of payroll, payroll processing, debit memos, reporting and purchase order transactions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities, strong time management skills - particularly in managing deadlines and/or high peak work periods.
- Strong interpersonal skills including flexibility and the ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Must pay meticulous attention to detail; precision and accuracy are required.
- Must assume ownership of the job functions and in doing so follow up and monitor activities in a timely and ongoing fashion
- Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing; be and possess and excellent telephone manner.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $15.34-$24.17 per hour
