ABOUT BREAKTHROUGH ACADEMY Breakthrough Academy specializes in helping innovative entrepreneurs in the contracting industry grow their businesses by implementing excellent operational systems into their companies. We believe in the unlimited potential of entrepreneurship and help our Members (clients) break through barriers and take their businesses to the next level.

Our proprietary training program brings systemization to a company’s operations, develops an entrepreneur’s core business skills, and holds accountability to goals along with a clear business plan.

Breakthrough Academy is now nine years old and continuing to grow rapidly, with over 900 business owners developing in the program and an awesome team of 50 running the show.

We’ve built a great team over the past few years, and are at a stage where we’re assembling a solid Human Resources Department. Because of this, we are looking for an exceptional HR Manager who has a unique skill set for strategic planning prowess, a love for process design, and extraordinary people skills.

IN THE ROLE, YOU WILL BE: Managing employee relations and engaging with the management team on important topics Creating an internal employee communication strategy for company news and updates Collaborating with managers to ensure employees have the tools and support they need to thrive Handling end-to-end onboarding, including impactful, engaging in-person sessions in Vancouver Conducting an annual employee engagement survey Managing and communicating the employee benefits programs, such as group health plans, RRSP matching, and facilitating enrollment Implementing monetary and non-monetary reward and recognition programs Identifying and assessing training needs and developing workshops, online courses, and on-the-job training programs Identifying skill-building opportunities and creating individualized development plans and career paths to support employee growth Implementing performance management systems and designing evaluation criteria to link compensation to performance, ensuring fairness, transparency, and alignment with organizational objectives Training managers and employees on constructive and developmental feedback, promoting a high-performance culture of continuous improvement Identifying high-potential employees, creating development plans to track progress, and providing mentoring and coaching Fostering an inclusive environment and ensuring an attractive, accessible brand Conducting a workforce planning strategy to meet staffing needs and coordinating recruitment efforts with department leaders Overseeing an internal recruitment team of two, and liaising with external agencies as needed Managing the HR budget and forecasting for hiring, salaries, benefits, talent management, training, succession planning, workforce engagement, and employee wellness planning Establishing and communicating relevant policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with provincial laws and regulations Sourcing HRIS systems and leading the implementation and training for employees

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 3-5 years of progressive experience in a Human Resources leadership role A Bachelor's degree in Business; Human Resource Management concentration is a plus Demonstrated experience and success with full-cycle recruitment Up-to-date on modern HR practices, management philosophies, techniques, and tools Tech savvy with hands-on experience using Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Outstanding oral and written communication capabilities Ability and eagerness to travel to team events and quarterly team get-togethers Proven track record of setting and maintaining high company standards in a creative, innovative, flexible environment
