Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Advisor, Human Resources is responsible for providing a broad range of Human Resources (HR) services to one or more functional groups in the Corporate Office. We are seeking an experienced HR professional responsible for independently supporting the full employee life cycle. On any given day, this may include recruitment and onboarding, performance management, succession planning, talent development, compensation, all the way to termination and offboarding, and everything in between.

**Responsibilities**:

- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Create and maintain proactive, effective, and trusting relationships with Leaders and Employees to provide advice, guidance, and counsel on HR matters
- Lead Talent Management activities for client groups (including Succession planning, performance management, and talent development)
- Support employee development and training programs through communication, education, and recommendation of various internal and external programs
- Assist in developing, implementing, and administrating human resources policies and procedures through gathering missing data, identifying standard practices and then knowledge sharing to maintain compliance with employment law
- Engage with employees and leaders to support Teck’s Purpose and Values. Identify and resolve employee relations issues and mediate workplace conflict resolution; work closely with HR Manager for issues that require additional support
- Conduct new employee onboarding and orientations
- Enter employee data (hires, changes, and terminations) into the Company’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
- Act as an HR Business Partner supporting and coaching managers in recruiting, employee engagement and development
- Contribute to crafting solutions to improve customer services (globally where possible) and recommend opportunities for improvement
- As a member of the HR Services team, provide outstanding customer service to all internal and external clients

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or other equivalent field of study
- A minimum of 4 - 6 years of broad Human Resources Generalist experience with exposure to various aspects of the HR/employee lifecycle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding relationship-building skills
- Strong initiative, judgement, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to operate with very high levels of integrity and confidentiality
- Demonstrates Teck’s dedication to safety and sustainability
- Fluent Spanish proficiency including written and verbal communication
