**Position Description**
Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager, Recruitment & Retention and Labour Relations, will be directly responsible for managing and administering various Human Resources (HR) activities and ensuring consistency in delivering our company core values.
The Human Resources Manager will be a partner to all levels of the organization, proactively supporting the strategic business objectives of Science World and identifying any current and future needs and gaps. This position works collaboratively across the organization to support the employee experience and our employees’ growth and development.
**Responsibilities**
**Recruitment**
- Evaluate the internal and external environments in relation to recruitment and retention to ensure compliance with proper Human Resources/organizational practices and obligations and proposes changes where necessary
- Collaborate with business leaders to design organizational structures, job roles, and employee lifecycle processes to drive organizational strategy, updating position profiles as necessary
- Audit the recruitment process to ensure it is a comprehensive program and best practices are adhered to
- Responsible for working with the Human Resources Generalist to manage and continually improve Science World’s onboarding program to maximize engagement and productivity
**Labour Relations**
- Administers and manages administration of labor contracts; provides interpretation of labor contracts to managers, employees; oversees processes for review and resolution of employee grievances, supports contract negotiation preparations and works as part of the bargaining committee.
- Supports strong labour/management relationships
- Provide labour relations related training as required
**Employee Growth and Development**
- Leverage performance management as a tool to align individual performance with organizational priorities and to maximize employee productivity and support employee development, growth and retention
- Support meaningful and regular performance conversations between managers and employees throughout the year to promote employee achievements and drive continual performance. Advise and coach managers on constructively addressing performance issues development
- Work with the Vice President, Human Resources, and across the organization, to identify developmental needs and plans for team members to ensure they are creating a pipeline and succession planning
**OH&S**
- Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings
- Assist in the management of WCB claims in compliance as per WorkSafeBC protocol
- Facilitate and schedule occupational health & safety training for employees; assist in maintaining safety records as needed to remain WCB compliant
- Research OHS regulations and advise accordingly, as part of the OH&S Committee; facilitate and implement program reviews and design, i.e. First Aid, Confined space, Safe Working protocols and COVID-related protocols
**Administration**
- Support the Human Resources Generalist in the maintenance of personnel records and managing our HRIS system UKG Pro to ensure the security of employee’s personnel files and other personnel information
- Support the Human Resources Generalist for the administration of all Company benefit enrollments and exits and educating employees inquiring about the benefits program when necessary
- Responsible as back up to the Human Resources Generalist for payroll and related duties
**General**
- Manage and report on Human Resources metrics including, but not limited to, turnover, recruitment and incident statistics
- Execute appropriate communications for Science World when needed
- May conduct or supervise termination meetings with department managers
- Develops and delivers training related to role responsibilities
- Maintain current knowledge of legislation and regulation that relate to people issues, and participate in recommending appropriate policies and procedures
