Your Opportunity

As a Civil Engineer in Training and Developing Project Manager, you will work with multiple team members on greenfield projects of various sizes and complexities. The selected candidate will be responsible for greenfield project delivery, financials, construction oversight (in combination with our Field Services group), proposals, and client success. The projects assigned to a Junior Project Manager may have complex features that require the ability to navigate, and problem solve through the collaboration with team members. This role also contributes to the analysis of proposed community development projects to ensure timely project delivery, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

This individual will be responsible for managing relationships with some of our most valued developer clients, providing exceptional customer service.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and delivery of Subdivision Engineering Construction Drawings (residential, industrial, and commercial).
  • Guiding projects to completion, including preliminary/conceptual design, detailed design, scheduling, and construction.
  • Liaise with clients, municipalities, and others to obtain and determine project requirements, permits, and approvals.
  • Coordinating work of land development staff and review their deliverables.
  • Responsible for each project’s schedule, budget, and reporting.
  • Ensure projects meet applicable specifications and standards as per the governing municipality and adhere to Stantec’s QA/QC program.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Background in the land development industry with general exposure to the key critical path items that lead to a successfully deliver product for our client (BP release, energization, and registration).
  • General understanding of the intricacies between different disciplines such as engineering, field services, stormwater, landscape, planning, geomatics, and planning services is an asset.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and registered as a Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer with APEGA is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related land development experience is preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time, as well as work in the field. p>
