Research Coordinator

Job DescriptionThis position is a part of the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA).This position has a term length of 1 year plus 1 day, with the possibility of extension and offers a comprehensive benefits package.Location - This role is in-person in North Campus Edmonton.The Research Coordinator is responsible for assisting and supporting the Director, the Principal Investigators and the Co-Investigators in the overall operations and management of all current and upcoming pharmaceutical clinical trials and investigator initiated research studies within the Division of Pulmonary Medicine.This position works as a contributing study team member with other research coordinators, physicians, lab personnel, and stakeholders of the research.ResponsibilitiesPreparation of pre-study documentationPreparation of application for Health Research Ethics Board approvalPreparation of patient information and informed consent sheetsPatient screening, interviewing and recruitmentObtaining patient informed consentCompleting patient enrolmentConducting study visits and collection of study dataMaintaining and dispensing drug suppliesCompleting and ensuring quality of case report formsMaintaining source documentsEnsuring and maintaining site qualityOngoing Health Research Ethics Board interaction and communicationCollection of laboratory specimensHandling and shipping of laboratory specimensDocumentation of adverse events and notification of Principal Investigator and other authorities as required.A more detailed list of duties in various sections (admin/patient care/education) can be shared at the interview stageQualificationsMinimumRegistered Respiratory TherapistPreferredCertified Respiratory Educator designation or previous patient education experienceCompletion of GCP/ICH training programMinimum five years clinical experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse previous research experiencePrevious patient education experienceApplication InstructionsClick "Apply Now" to submit your resume and cover letter as ONE document.
