**Position Summary**

The Research Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator as part of an interdisciplinary research team. The focus of the project is on optimizing the design of custom masks for non-invasive ventilation (NIV) in children. The project team includes investigators from the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary across the disciplines of health, engineering, imaging, visualization, mathematics, statistics, and knowledge translation.

The Research Coordinator will support overall coordination for the project as well as work with the Principal Investigator to set up and run the ‘NIV User Experience’ stream of the project. This stream will focus on integrating people with lived experience of NIV use in childhood (children and young adults who have used NIV and their parents and caregivers) into the custom mask design process. This will include working directly with members of the NIV User Experience group and being the main liaison between this group and the rest of the research team.

**Duties**
- Setting up and running the NIV User Experience group
- Development and administration of data collection for the NIV User Experience Stream
- Scheduling and coordinating NIV User Experience group meetings
- Scheduling, coordination, and documentation for research team and clinical trial meetings
- Liaising with the University of Alberta Clinical Trials Office
- Supporting the preparation and submission of conference abstracts and manuscripts

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree
- Experience working in a research environment
- Experience working as part of an integrated team
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Demonstrated attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong computer proficiency
- The ability to work in person at the University of Alberta

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Post-secondary training or experience working in a research team for at least one year
- Experience in clinical research or healthcare
- Experience working with children and their families
- Computer proficiency with data management software (REDCap), data analysis software, and electronic medical records
- TCPS 2 tutorial Course on Research Ethics (CORE)
- Good Clinical Practice certification
- Experience with clinical trials research
