The Senior Manager, Executive Talent Acquisition is accountable for leading the search and hiring process for executive-level roles across the Bank’s global footprint, which includes internal and external hiring, in support of the Bank’s business strategies and objectives. As a member of the Bank’s Talent Strategy Community of Expertise (COE), the Senior Manager, Executive Talent Acquisition identifies talent that aligns with the Bank’s values and behaviours, and plays an important role in reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  1. Own and manage executive (VP+) talent acquisition across the Bank’s business lines and corporate/control functions, providing strategic insights and advice by partnering with hiring executives on complex, specialized leadership needs.
  2. Perform in-depth research to identify passive talent prospects and reviewing and screening candidate applications to present diverse and highly qualified candidate slates.
  3. Take a proactive, data-driven approach to source and attract executive-level candidates through various channels, building a pipeline of candidates for the Bank’s executive talent pool and bringing insights and ideas to leaders at the Bank.
  4. Advocate and champion Scotiabank’s commitment to diversity and inclusion by practicing inclusive hiring practices and ensuring stakeholders are committing to the same.
  5. Manage escalated and complex issues, such as business-related questions and complexities with certain hiring scenarios, ensuring recruitment activities are delivered in compliance with legislative requirements.
  6. Effectively manage complex compensation negotiations with candidates, engaging with our Total Rewards and HR Business Partner teams.
  7. Lead the end-to-end candidate experience, acting as a point of contact and building influential candidate relationships during the selection process.
  8. Contribute to the overall success of Talent Strategy, ensuring goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s overall strategies and objectives.
  9. Support the Talent Strategy globally and in alignment with Scotiabank’s vision and Global Human Resources’ strategy.
  10. Lead and drive a customer-focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  1. Proven track record of sourcing and recruiting executive-level talent by using research-driven, proactive methodologies, e.g. market scans, approaching passive prospects, cold-calling, leveraging client and own professional networks, etc.
  2. 5-7 years in an executive recruitment role at complex and/or large companies; executive search firm experience strongly preferred.
  3. Exceptional communications skills with a strong ability to strategically influence and persuade senior leaders.
  4. Results-oriented and able to effectively execute in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically and cultivate networks and relationships.
  6. Undergraduate degree, preferably with focus on business/human resources and/or work-related experience.
  7. Knowledge of the Banking industry is strongly preferred, and experience across the Bank’s global footprint is considered an asset.
  8. Bilingual communication skills in Spanish and/or French is an asset.
