Satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check Post secondary education with several years experience in senior management specifically related to operational policing, organized crime and the criminal intelligence process.Experience working in an integrated policing environment with a demonstrated ability to build and enhance mutually beneficial partnerships with senior officials from municipal, provincial, federal and international agencies/organizations.Demonstrated ability to leverage opportunities for innovation, find creative solutions to issues, and successfully manage change.Management experience with responsibility for human and financial resources.Experience translating strategic priorities into clear operational and business plans, and experience with strategic performance management and measurement systems (e.g. Key Performance Indicators).Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.Political acumen demonstrated through experience providing strategic advice to senior leaders on complex topics and sensitive issues.Experience providing leadership and direction in the design and implementation of legislation, policies and programs.Duties:As a member of the department’s management team, the Director is responsible to lead and manage the Manitoba Criminal Intelligence Centre (MCIC) within the Manitoba Intelligence Branch (MIB), Public Safety Division (PSD), providing advice and support to the Executive Director.
The MCIC is established under the Police Services Act as a specialized office staffed with criminal intelligence experts and personnel from police services and other law-enforcement related organizations who are involved in the collection, storage, analysis and use of criminal intelligence.
The MCIC effectively addresses the intelligence needs of law enforcement within the province and ensures jurisdictional coordination of criminal intelligence and analytics, while providing a solid foundation for effective and innovative intelligence led policing efforts targeting serious and organized crime threats impacting Manitobans.
