As a member of the Vice-President Academic Team and the College's Leadership Network, the Director,
Centre for Learning and Program Excellence is primarily accountable for providing vision, leadership,
strategic direction, and operational planning for a wide range of responsibilities related to academic
program quality assurance, innovation, design, and development, as well as professional development
of staff and faculty to ensure learning, teaching, and administrative excellence.
The Director acts as an internal consultant, change leader, and resource within the College, serving as a
champion of innovation in organizational development, learning and teaching practice, and academic
program design and delivery. The Director has direct responsibility for strategic and operational
oversight of the current units of: Educational Development and Learning Technologies; Academic
Quality and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL); Emerging Media and Production (EMP); and
Organizational Development.
Reporting to the Vice-President Academic and supported by the Chief Human Resource Officer, this key
individual will leverage an extensive understanding of adult and applied education principles, apply
knowledge of educational trends and technologies, and build an effective and integrated service
- oriented team dedicated to meeting the current and future learning needs of staff, faculty, and students.
- R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S- Post-graduate degree in education or a relevant area of study with direct teaching and learning
experience in an educational setting. An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and
experience may be considered.
- Progressive leadership experience within a post-secondary or equivalent environment, illustrating the
ability to coach, mentor, and develop talent.
- Experience implementing new learning and teaching practices to the organization, including the
- Experience developing a strategic vision and implementing a corresponding operational plan.
- Experience developing and implementing quality assurance frameworks, with a focus on student
- success.- Experience with financial oversight and responsibility of a department.
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous
improvement
- A S S E T S- Strong change and project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with internal and external
- stakeholders.- Demonstrated strength in customer service.
- C O N D I T I O N S O F E M P L O Y M E N T- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
