Overview Primary Job Title: Communications Specialist Alternate/Related Job Titles: Communications Associate Marketing Communications Coordinator Content Marketing Specialist Corporate Communications Advisor Location: Toronto, ON Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid — 4 days onsite (Monday–Thursday) Contract Details: Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 1 year Start: As Soon As Possible Pay Rate: C$30–40/hr Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours/day) Job Summary The Communications Specialist supports the execution and delivery of strategic communication and marketing initiatives within the Asset Management (AM) division of one of Canada’s leading banks. Working closely with the Manager of Communications, the successful candidate will create and manage content for a wide range of audiences, including retail investors, advisors, and institutional clients. This role requires strong writing, editing, and project management skills, along with experience in the investment or wealth management sector. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans supporting business initiatives such as sales campaigns, product launches, and conferences. Act as the communications lead within project teams, providing strategic counsel and communication expertise. Draft, edit, and proofread a variety of materials including brochures, sales tools, press releases, newsletters, and web copy. Support the oversight and production of recurring communications (e.g., newsletters, updates). Maintain and apply a strong understanding of the bank’s mutual fund and ETF offerings. Collaborate with internal teams — including product, marketing, sales, compliance, and design — to ensure alignment and consistency. Ensure all content adheres to corporate brand standards and compliance requirements. Support initiatives that enhance channel efficiency, audience engagement, and brand storytelling. Required Experience 5–7 years of experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing. Experience in banking, investments, or asset management (minimum 2 years). Proven ability to develop content strategies and write across diverse media. Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Tnice-to-Have Experience Bilingual (English/French). Experience with social media and digital marketing tools. Previous exposure to mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Required Skills Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities. Strong attention to detail and grammatical precision. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to produce clear, audience-specific messaging aligned with business objectives. Preferred Skills Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders. Adaptability in dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving business environments. Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration. Additional Skills Understanding of investment trends and competitive positioning. Experience coordinating communications across retail and institutional channels. Familiarity with brand tone, voice, and content governance standards.
