As a Corporate Application Technical Lead (Salesforce), you will support the administration of Salesforce instances, assist project teams, and provide senior technical expertise and analysis to business users using Salesforce solutions. You will play a significant role in Salesforce configuration, administration, access control setup, monitoring and tracking usage, licenses, and storage in the various environments. You will also be responsible for code promotions, reviewing maintenance release notes, impact analysis, testing, and occasional development.

The Corporate Application Technical Leader will participate in the implementation, administration, and optimization of Salesforce-based applications, integrations with other systems, and ongoing support for information technology solutions in accordance with the Division's methodology and standards.

Job Functions:

  • Directs business and technical inter-divisional staff and professional services to deliver and sustain complex, critical enterprise business applications and information through the application life cycle.
  • Directs the day-to-day work output of staff and resources, including scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work tasks.
  • Negotiates among divisional business and technical stakeholders to drive consensus for corporate-wide solution designs.
  • Brings together multiple stakeholders and provides expert advice within the context of corporate architectures, standards, policies, procedures, and emerging technologies.
  • Determines project requirements, analyzes, recommends feasible options, designs, builds, tests, and implements enterprise information structures and applications.
  • Applies technical expertise to recommend, develop, and maintain corporate policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensures security, privacy, and quality assurance requirements are implemented.
  • Leads and/or inputs into project management and procurement processes.
  • Provides direction and assigns work to non-I&T positions on a project basis.
  • Develops and/or inputs to procurement and project management documentation.
  • Communicates effectively, leading and facilitating meetings, preparing, and delivering presentations and reports.
  • Develops and applies complex business and application models, information structures, and data schemas.
  • Participates in corporate and cross-divisional initiatives to design, construct, and implement business and application infrastructure solutions.
  • Analyzes and recommends changes to current business practices and processes.
  • Generates the plan and directs the project team in the execution of software upgrade activities.
  • Performs analysis, development, and testing for new or enhancements to existing applications.
  • Supports the development and testing environments of complex computing solutions.

Key Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related discipline or an approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Considerable experience in information technology systems, including software development life cycle (SDLC) and rapid application development methodology.
  • Considerable experience in Salesforce Platform Administration, User Management, Security Management, and Release Management.
  • Considerable experience using Salesforce Lightning web components (LWC), Visualforce pages, Apex classes, Triggers, and Flows.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with external applications and systems.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks, Atlassian products, and ITIL framework.
  • Experience with DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD technologies.
  • Experience in building mobile or omni-channel applications using Salesforce mobile app, React, or open source.

You must also have:

  • Ability to lead teams and work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proven efficiency in teamwork, facilitation, communications, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to prepare and present business cases and proposals to various audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with team members and clients.
  • Knowledge of software packages, including MS Office and data modeling.
  • An understanding of SCRUM methodology is an asset.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to implement and support software products integrated into business solutions.
  • Ability to elicit and develop application requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Advanced time management and estimation capabilities.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and execute test plans and disaster recovery plans.
  • Flexibility to work various hours and be on call for support.
  • Ability to travel across various office locations within the City of Toronto.
