The Role

As an Engagement Manager at Valence, you'll be at the heart of our mission to revolutionize leadership development through generative AI. You'll work hand-in-hand with global enterprises like Coca-Cola, Nestle, General Mills, Prudential and more to deploy the first-ever AI-powered coaching solution to their teams. You will be forging relationships, driving strategic initiatives, and directly influencing the evolution of our gen AI product. We're looking for someone who can navigate the complex landscapes of Fortune 500 companies to translate the potential of AI into tangible business outcomes.

What You'll Do

  1. Build and manage strategic client relationships across all levels of leadership.
  2. Own the consultative execution of generative AI tools within our enterprise clients.
  3. Meet/exceed financial and strategic business targets related to held accounts.
  4. Embed deeply in clients from a relationship and programmatic perspective, with strong use cases.
  5. Expand our footprint within a client, with usage and revenue increases YoY.
  6. Execute a consultative methodology to drive client behavior change against priorities.
  7. Collaborate on the presale processes, including piloting, alongside the Sales team.
  8. Lead contract renewal processes, with support from the VP of Sales on negotiations.
  9. Manage the contracting and invoicing processes alongside our operations team.
  10. Contribute to product improvements leveraging deep understanding of client needs.
  11. Identify new opportunities to expand our platform's impact at our existing clients.
  12. Expand knowledge of machine learning, trust & ethics in AI, successful integration and our clients' industries in general. This is an evolving space.

What We're Looking For

  1. 4+ years of professional experience in consulting. Track record of client servicing excellence and high quality delivery for complex senior clients. A focus on L&D and org practice is preferred.
  2. Experience building strategic relationships that drive commercial growth.
  3. Rapidly translate ideas and strategies into the right outcomes, adapting to changing circumstances with agility.
  4. Ability to diagnose a variety of problems, break them down into manageable pieces, and put them back together in an impactful way.
  5. Proven ability to collaborate with busy leaders at all levels, including the C-Suite, to drive initiatives forward.
  6. Proven ability to keep the moving parts of many workstreams on track; natural attention to the small details that make for great experiences.
  7. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to adjust styles to the audience.
  8. Comfort with data (Excel) to organize information in a value-added way.
  9. Highly motivated and self-driven, with a strong desire to exceed expectations. A natural sense of urgency and not easily deterred by roadblocks.
  10. Growth mindset and willingness to continuously learn through high-quality feedback.
  11. Clear motivations for wanting to join a Series A startup focused on generative AI, LLMs and ML and also the topic of Learning and Development, Teams.

Location and Work Environment

This role is 3 days a week (Tues - Thursday) minimum in office in Union Square, at 33 Irving Place. Candidates must be comfortable working with colleagues in different time zones (UK), and have valid travel documents without work authorization restrictions in the US.
