About the workplace

This is an in-office role that requires working full-time in their Edmonton, AB office.

About the role

  • Develop strategic plans for events, including setting goals, making plans, and mapping out budgets.
  • Be responsible for day-to-day responsibilities (e.g., tracking costs) for departmental budgets.
  • Manage and organize the events calendar and plans.
  • Oversee large-scale tradeshow booths and events, working with external agencies on concept, design, build, and deployment.
  • Some travel will be required, supporting trade show and events activities.
  • Coordinate and manage all external company events (tradeshows, galas, association events) and collaborate with internal committees to execute all employee-related events (BBQs, holiday parties, special events).
  • Organize all sponsorship and collaboration opportunities, selecting ones that align with strategic goals.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless end-to-end execution.
  • Arrange all event-related photography, videography, PR, and advertising needs.
  • Review and report on events to identify successes and areas of improvement, using this information to inform future plans.
  • Plan, order, distribute, maintain, and track all promotional/collateral items.
  • Handle merchandising needs for all the company’s business units.
  • Plan out annual and monthly promotional strategies.
  • Work with vendors to get quotes and negotiate prices.
  • Enter all event and merchandising-related purchase requisitions and invoices into the system.
  • Design basic mock-ups and other miscellaneous projects.

About you

  • 5+ years’ experience in a marketing role (preferably in an agency or construction setting).
  • Degree in marketing, project management, event management, communications, business. (An equivalent mix of education and experience will be considered.)
  • Experience with event planning and merchandising.
  • Highly organized with superior time management and negotiation skills.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines with multiple stakeholders.
  • Passionate about marketing and creativity, staying current on new trends and tracking competitors.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), basic photography and/or videography skills.
  • PMP Certification is an asset.
  • Experience in a construction or manufacturing setting is an asset.
