Millar Western is seeking an IT professional who will be responsible for IT service request fulfillment and technical incident resolution at all mill and office locations across Western Canada. Focusing primarily on the Whitecourt and Slave Lake Mills, this role prioritizes the safe and reliable operations of these facilities. Responsibilities include procuring/replacing hardware, installing/updating local software, troubleshooting desktop and endpoint issues, providing on-site support for network connectivity and VPN, and offering “smart hands” assistance for security, network, and infrastructure requirements. This position will also implement and maintain security standards on desktop and mobility endpoints and assist OT personnel with problem resolution and change management on the OT process network and applications as required.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have direct experience providing both field and office IT support in an industrial production environment. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges and solutions, coupled with technical expertise and certifications in hardware and mobility support. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of IT services within our organization.
