FROG LAKE FIRST NATIONS is currently accepting applications for a LAND AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR.


The Land and Resource Management Director shall oversee, supervise and be responsible for all aspects of the Frog Lake First Nations Land and Resource Management Administration and to work with Frog Lake Administration and Membership in delivering a land and resource management program to the Frog Lake First Nations #121 & #122.


Responsibilities
  1. Take lead in issues with land usage.
  2. Assist in land disturbance issues.
  3. Land identification and securing of existing Frog Lake First Nations borders.
  4. Address environmental concerns and issues.
  5. Identify traditional, cultural, gathering or historical areas and catalog such areas.
  6. Manage waterways, watersheds, and bodies of water within Frog Lake First Nations and any other concerns affecting them.
  7. Responsible for the creation of mapping outlining relevant information for use in planning, land disturbance payment, identification of occupied lands, and watersheds.
  8. Counsel and assist any recognized Frog Lake First Nations entity regarding land, land development, capital projects, amenities, infrastructure, and resource development within Frog Lake First Nations and Frog Lake Territorial Lands.

Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

Minimum Requirements
  1. Knowledge of different cleaning supplies and tools.
  2. Familiar with Frog Lake First Nations reserve, roads, and locations in and around Frog Lake First Nations.
  3. Familiar with waterways, watersheds, and bodies of water in and around Frog Lake First Nations.
  4. Have working knowledge of traditional, gathering, cultural, and historical areas of Frog Lake First Nations.
  5. Have working knowledge of clan or family land holdings and any associated traditional claims including haying, trapping, and trap line holdings (past and present) and traditional gathering areas.
  6. Post Secondary or Master’s Degree in planning, land and water management, land and water and resource management, or public administration; or a relevant undergraduate degree, or 5 years of experience in one or more of these areas.
  7. Experience in land leasing with an emphasis on oil, gas, and environment.
  8. Must have a valid Driver’s License and dependable transportation.
  9. Must be able to work independently, maintain confidentiality, be physically fit, and able to perform work-related tasks.
  10. In good standing with the Frog Lake First Nations membership.
  11. The ability to speak Cree will be an asset.
  12. Must be a Band Member of Frog Lake First Nations.
