The Division of Cardiology is comprised of 7 clinicians who are dynamic, highly engaged, and dedicated to excellence in patient care, academic activity, and research.
The Division provides cardiology subspecialty care to children and youth ranging in age from fetal life to age 18 years. Outpatient and inpatient general cardiology care is provided, with additional specialized services including non-invasive electrophysiology, fetal cardiology, inherited arrhythmia, cardiomyopathy, and neuromuscular disease. A full complement of cardiac imaging modalities is utilized, including echocardiography (transthoracic and transesophageal), cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and cardiac catheterization (diagnostic and interventional). Candidates must have strong operational and academic leadership skills and a proven record of achievement in comprehensive patient care, clinical program development, education, research, and/or quality assurance. Candidates must be eligible for a full-time academic appointment in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa. While English is the language of the health record, functionality in French is an asset.
Candidates for this position must have an MD, certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in pediatric cardiology or equivalent, and be eligible for licensing in the Province of Ontario.
CHEO is one of the few stand-alone, global leaders in pediatric health and is home to nearly 4,500 staff and physicians dedicated to helping children and youth live their best lives. Within its own walls and through partnerships with community providers, CHEO has transformed from a 20th Century acute care hospital into a 21st Century integrated child and youth health system. Ranked in the top 1% of Canadian hospitals for the digitization of its clinical infrastructure, CHEO combines excellence in clinical care, research, and education to advance seamless care that’s provided where, when, and how it is needed.
