Job Description General Responsibility:

The Manager of Engineering, Minerals & Mining is a high-visibility, high-impact, customer-facing role, responsible for developing and executing strategies for the BEUMER Group organization in North America, and for leading and managing our engineering efforts to achieve company objectives relating to customer and market outcomes within the Minerals & Mining Division.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Team Leadership:
    You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will be responsible for managing and motivating the team, setting goals, and objectives, and ensuring that team members have the necessary resources to perform their jobs effectively.
  2. Team Development:
    Build, nurture, and lead a high-performing sales team capable of effectively implementing sales initiatives and achieving key performance indicators. Optimize team structure and capabilities to support primary sales objectives and strategy.
  3. Collaboration and Alignment:
    Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including bid management, to develop comprehensive sales solutions aligned with customer requirements and company capabilities.
  4. Technical Expertise:
    You will have a solid technical background in engineering and will be responsible for ensuring that all mechatronics projects are developed to the required technical standards.
  5. Continuous Improvement:
    You will drive continuous improvement within your team and the wider organization. This will involve identifying areas for improvement, implementing best practices, and driving innovation to ensure that the organization remains at the forefront of materials handling technology.
  6. Communication:
    You will communicate with organizational stakeholders, from senior management to front-line staff. You will need to be able to communicate technical concepts and project updates clearly and concisely and adapt your communication style to suit different audiences.
  7. Technical Design:
    You will oversee the design and development of engineering systems and components, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  8. Technical Problem-Solving:
    As the technical leader of your team, you will be responsible for identifying and resolving technical issues that arise during the design, development, testing, or manufacturing phases of mechatronics projects.
  9. Customer Support Integration:
    Collaborate with the Customer Support team to identify and capitalize on targeted opportunities, ensuring seamless integration between sales and support functions.
  10. Quality Control:
    You will ensure that all engineered solutions meet the required quality standards and comply with relevant industry regulations and customer specifications.
  11. Safety Compliance:
    You will ensure that all projects comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
  12. Leadership and Values:

Qualifications Key Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mining, or related Engineering discipline.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
7+ years of experience in one or a combination of mining, aggregates, cement, industrial minerals coupled with material conveying solutions, leading in a globally matrixed organization with notable progression in Sales and adjacent disciplines, while consistently delivering performance improvements in relation to key figures of merit.
Demonstrated experience successfully developing and leading a team of professionals through complex cycles.
Demonstrated strong business development acumen, in particular utilizing innovative new solutions and products to penetrate existing and new accounts.
Experience with design and project scheduling software.
Successful record driving and managing change within an organization.
Demonstrably outstanding team-building skills with the ability to improve interaction and efficiency as well as the ability to break down barriers.
Demonstrably successful experience in inspiring, motivating, and leading People; developing and leading high-functioning teams; strategic and operational planning and budgeting; defining, setting targets for, analyzing, and applying performance metrics to drive qualitative and quantitative improvements; short- and long-term workforce planning and talent development and retention; strategic workflow evaluation, design, and optimization; change design and change management.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills along with demonstrable leadership capabilities in creating unified and motivated team.
