What You’ll Be Doing

When you join our Career Programs as an Associate in the Technology Leadership Advancement Program (TLAP), you’ll join a team that continues to push CIBC as the market leader in innovative technology to make our clients’ ambitions a reality. TLAP is a 2-year rotational program with three 8-month rotations and offers significant flexibility for you to carve your own path that aligns with your personal and professional development as a future technology leader in CIBC.

Your rotations will be within the technology streams of the bank, which includes tech teams that align with business units like Enterprise Technology/ Digital Banking/ Payments technology/ Cards technology/personal and business banking, teams responsible for our enterprise-wide tech /corporate functions like enterprise architecture center technology/Agile/DevOps Centre of Excellence, teams that keep the lights on like Tech Ops/Payments, Digital, and numerous others. You will be given opportunities to explore work and areas of the bank outside the technology streams as well. Based on the rotation team, TLAP Associates take on different roles; some common rotation roles include Business Systems Analyst, Product Owner, Product Manager, ScrumMaster, Technical Project Manager, and Technical Consultant.

In addition to the day-to-day rotation work, you will have access to your Rotation Manager, Program Manager and an Executive Mentor to advance your professional development by receiving tailored career guidance and opportunities to expand your network. With the help of your Peer and Alumni mentors, you will be part of a vibrant community of talented professionals who are pursuing their rotations and will be your initial network as you expand your career with CIBC. The various internal TLAP committees will provide you with an opportunity to pursue your interests and passion projects while simultaneously contributing to the development of the TLAP community.

Important Information

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in any Technical domain

  • You have strong analytical and leadership skills

  • You are keen to grow with diverse teams of technology and project professionals

  • You have excellent communication and inter-personal skills

  • Degree or Advanced Degree in Computer Science/ Technology will be an asset to have
