**Division Overview**

The Partnership’s Cancer Systems, Performance and Innovation Division drives improvements in Canada’s cancer system through data, research, economic modelling and innovations such as digital healthcare. This division monitors emerging health technologies and leverages data systems to determine gaps and opportunities for improvements in cancer care and informs internal partners on innovative approaches, international best practice and compelling evidence to support key partnership decision making. The division enhances regional integration, with leads located across the country with the mandate of increasing responsiveness to local cancer care needs and opportunities. This division also leads data collection, analysis and reporting to Canadians on the performance of the cancer system and progress of the Partnership and its partners in delivering on the eight priorities of the 2019-2029 Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control.

**Overview of Role**

Reporting to the Manager, System Performance*, the First Nations, Inuit and Métis Lead will be responsible for working closely with First Nations, Inuit and Métis partners and internal teams, including First Nations, Inuit and Métis Cancer Strategy and Research and Innovation, to embed First Nations, Inuit and Métis-specific priorities across all work in the Performance division. Fostering a culturally sensitive diversity lens, this highly collaborative role will reinforce the priorities identified and actions required as outlined in the Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control. The First Nations, Inuit and Métis Lead will be responsible for ongoing measurement and reporting of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples experiences with the health/cancer care system using Peoples-specific, self-determined indicators and outcomes.

**Core Responsibilities & Activities**
- Lead research synthesis and provide content expertise to aid with the development of analytical reports, business cases and project teams.
- Engage partners, through direct relationships, advisory groups and/or working groups, to support shared priorities and collaborate on data sharing agreements, knowledge products and reporting.
- Work with partners to identify shared priorities that align with the Partnership’s goals and support the Partnership’s strategic priorities; monitoring partners’ priorities, strategic plans and activities to identify opportunities for collaboration and co-created plans.
- Develop an approach for collecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis-specific data (quantitative and qualitative). Lead development of data specifications for indicators that can be used to describe the state of cancer control for First Nations, Inuit and Métis. This is done in collaboration with experts and partners, in a Reconciliatory way, both within and outside the Partnership.
- Engage with funded partners to support work to advance improvements in data and data governance, including assessing progress on workplans and the status of work, and co-creating resolutions to challenges to ensure continued progress
- Plan, research, and write sections of System Performance reports and knowledge products, describing the state of health equity for First Nations, Inuit and Métis and collective progress towards Peoples-specific priorities and actions.
- Identify, forecast and assess provincial/territorial, national and international trends and advancements in cancer control; determine implications for the Partnership, First Nations, Inuit and Métis partners, and shared priorities.
- Work across the Partnership to identify opportunities for linkages between First Nations, Inuit and Métis partner priorities and new or existing work at the Partnership. Identify areas of intersection and/or synergies between the Partnership and key external partners, and drive the strategic action needed to integrate these into the Partnership’s work.
- Contribute to organization-wide initiatives to foster integration, high performance, and program effectiveness and impact, and achievement of outcomes and goals.
- Remain informed of program content, status, updates, and findings, and act as a source of substantive information to internal and external partner
- Develop trusted relationships with key decision makers at all levels and across all teams in the organization.
