The Green Line is Calgary’s largest public infrastructure project to date Green Line will be a new system added to the current Calgary Transit LRT network, connecting more communities to safe, efficient, and affordable public transit. Phase 1 project is comprised of 13 new stations and 18 km of track and will include tunnels, bridges, park & ride facilities, and an MSF.
The Green Line Technical Services Team is seeking an energetic, talented and skilled Project Engineer to support the design advancement and preliminary construction planning for the line. Opportunities to contribute to the Green Line team exist in a wide range of technical disciplines, ranging from LRT systems, Systems Engineering, bridges, structures, tunnels, environment, roadways, utilities, and others. As a Project Engineer in the Green Line Technical Services Team you will support the management of overall project technical outcomes and project quality, and help to advance the project closer to construction and operation.
Location – Calgary, AB
Your role within the team:
- Responsibilities will be commensurate with level of experience and area of expertise.
- Support the Technical Services Team Engineering Managers and Senior Engineering Managers in the execution of their duties.
- Support the management of technical and non-technical interfaces within the overall Green Line team and City of Calgary asset owners. Work to integrate feedback from operators, and stakeholders in development of the final Technical Performance Requirements.
- Coordinate designs, construction, and final acceptance with other City of Calgary divisions and/or Business Units.
- Participate in risk identification and management, monitor, and mitigate risks.
- Interface, support, and coordinate the design in alignment with the Project Lands.
- Participate, oversee, and navigate design in technical meetings, (including but not limited to design criteria challenge sessions, review comments resolution), risk reviews, change management, claims and disputes resolution, and provide support for reporting.

The ideal candidate:
- 5-10 years of engineering experience in an infrastructure project engineering context. Experience in the areas of LRT systems, municipal infrastructure, public/institutional buildings, bridges, tunnels, or systems engineering will be preferred.
- P.Eng. or equivalent or eligible to obtain P.Eng. status (or equivalent) within 2 years.
- Strong written and verbal communicator with ability to communicate requirements and outcomes as they pertain to technical subjects.
- Skills with project engineering software suites including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and others are considered an asset.
- Experience with cross disciplinary engineering design coordination and/or alternative project delivery models is an asset.
