Position Snapshot
Business area: Nestlé Purina Petcare
Location: Mississauga, ON located at 2500 Royal Windsor Dr, Mississauga ON L5J 1K8; Hybrid
What to Expect:
You will be responsible for packaging project management of an estimated 250+ Canadian Bilingual packaging design projects annually for the Widely Distributed and Vet teams, liaising with Tech Packaging for Canadian die vinyls, North American nutritionists for Canadian Product Formula Specifications, and North American regulatory & legal for approvals. You will also be responsible for managing SGS CANADA, Nestlé Purina’s external packaging production partner, and RWS, Nestlé Purina’s external French Translation Agency, plus securing approvals of packaging projects from project inception through to the Nestlé Content Hub approvals and the Nestlé Digital Asset Management systems asset upload.
A day in the life:
Manages & stewards packaging development projects for Widely Distributed & Veterinary Marketing teams, from inception through to printed executions in a timely and cost-efficient manner:
- Oversees master packaging project list, timelines, and deliverables, making adjustments as needed.
- Coordinates with external suppliers (SGS and RWS) to ensure execution aligns with Nestlé Purina packaging processes.
- Coordinates with internal cross-functional teams to ensure accurate Canadian Product Formula Specifications and packaging Die Vinyls.
- Maintains Canadian Library of Packaging for current and final in-market packaging.
Manages approval process for all WD Marketing and Vet packaging projects (average of 250+ projects annually):
- Content Hub Lead/Owner for Canada, responsible for creating packaging projects and tasking cross-functional teams with new production artwork projects.
- Ensures regulatory and legal approvals, coordinating with managers before releasing for pre-press.
- Adheres to approved standards for trademarks, domiciles, AAFCO statements, feeding instructions, and other label elements.
Role Requirements
- University degree/college diploma and/or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to get results working with cross-functional teams
- Strong focus on achieving individual results and meeting deadlines
- Confidence and ability to escalate issues to the appropriate function
- Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo to generate innovation
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Preferred Skills
- Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of technical packaging/manufacturing
- Knowledge of printing processes/timelines
- Knowledge of SAP
