What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Analyst, Liquidity, Funding, & Financial Crisis Management, you will report to the Senior Director, Liquidity & Financial Crisis Management to help - and often co-lead - the design, coordination, management and delivery of large, multi-stakeholder projects. You will conduct analyses in support of regulatory metric interpretation and development, become an integral contributor to CIBC’s Recovery & Resolution Plan deliverables, and proactively address domestic and international regulatory developments affecting Treasury and CIBC’s businesses. You will also apply technical expertise to ensure efficient, accurate and timely support for CIBC’s Liquidity Management Framework, policy development and Recovery & Resolution Planning initiatives, including testing design, coordination and execution. You will also be instrumental in modernizing CIBC’s suite of crisis management plans to ensure our Bank’s ability to manage stress.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Diversity of Banking Experience – We see the whole Bank in the work that we do. Apply diverse banking and financial industry experience.

  • Project Management – Support the Liquidity & Financial Crisis Management team to organize and deliver the group’s mandate and related projects collaboratively. Coordinate with Liquidity Solutions and internal and external business counterparts, including regulators.

  • Relationship Management – Develop relationships with internal partners and stakeholders to ensure effective end-to-end process management and advisory with a high degree of accountability.

  • Initiative – Proactively stay apprised of regulatory guidance, and partake in projects/activities to continuously increase their depth and breadth of knowledge in the subject of liquidity, funding and financial crisis response, including presenting opinions and impact assessments to senior CIBC stakeholders.

  • Communication and Writing - Write technical reports and present them to senior audiences, including bank executives, peers, regulators and other industry participants.

  • Organization – There are always multiple deliverables on the go, and you bring sound organizational skills to ensure deliverables are met on time, including contributions from multiple internal departments and project stakeholders.

  • Technical Knowledge – Apply knowledge of global regulatory requirements (Basel III, OSFI, FSB), OSFI’s Recovery Planning and CDIC’s Resolution Planning requirements.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience. In a diversity of subject matters such as finance, risk management, etc. Moderately complex modeling and spreadsheeting (MS Excel) and PowerPoint. SQL skills is an asset.

  • You can demonstrate knowledge. Of Finance and Risk Management concepts such as balance sheet management and stress testing. You have the ability to create financial models and can interpret and communicate modeling results in an impactful way. Knowledge of global regulatory requirements (Basel III, OSFI, FSB), OSFI’s Recovery Planning and CDIC’s Resolution Planning requirements is a strong asset.

  • You have a degree/diploma. In business, commerce, and/or relevant program.
